Legend Cavaliers at Blenheim Hill Farm is home to exceptional Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, the dogs made famous in portraits of Kings and Queens in days of yore. Originally bred to warm laps in cold and gloomy castles, the Cavalier entertained royalty with their charming nature to such an extent that King Charles himself made it his life-long passion to perpetuate the breed he loved so dearly. The adorable antics of these toy dogs can melt even the hardest of hearts and the stunning beauty can take your breath away. Please enter this magical storybook land with a with a word of caution; love at first sight can happen quite unexpectedly. Turn the pages with care and only if you are not afraid to leave behind a little piece of your heart. I will then reveal to you the true romantic tales of how each of my "little darlings" came to Blenheim
Hill to become my loving and devoted companions. Perhaps, one day, you may be lucky enough to experience the joy of a Cavalier as well!
My name is Lisa Carnes, and I am the proud owner of Legend Cavaliers. I am vey active in the Cavalier world, both in the show ring and in the promotion of the health and well being of the breed through the many activities of the Cavalier clubs I belong to. I am on the Board of Directors and I am the Club Historian for the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club of Northern Florida. I am also a member in good standing of the Mid Florida Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club. I strictly adhere to the Code of Ethics of both clubs.
My dogs are part of my family. All of the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppies that are produced at Legend Cavaliers start with the intent of producing top quality show dogs. I breed for good health, good conformation and a merry termperament. I closely study pedigrees and look for the perfect combination of these qualities when making breding decisions. Much time and effort is involved in the process. I breed just one or two litters per year, so it is always very exciting when a new litter arrives.
From the day they are born to when puppies approach eight weeks or more of age I evaluate each puppy in the litter. Important decisions will be made along the way to determine which ones are going on to the show ring and which are going to become family pets. The puppies I decide not to keep I make available to loving homes on an agreement that they be spayed or neutered when age permits. My Cavalier King Charles Spaniel's are registered with the American Kennel Club (A.K.C.). I breed two colors; Blenheim's (rich chestnut markings well broken up on a pearly white background) and Tri Color's (black, white and tan) dogs.
Please feel free to contact me anytime. I would be happy to provide customer, veterinarian, and breed professional references upon request.
